"I am not what happened to me. I am who I choose to become"
-Carl Jung
Personal Statement
My name is Elissa Hurand. I have been called in my life to help people and to be of service, which has taken the form of becoming a psychotherapist. Working with individuals, I have witnessed a great deal of suffering. This suffering often comes from looking outside of oneself for self-esteem instead of feeling an internal sense of calm, connectedness and peace. People often reach out to me when they are in a soul-crisis, presenting with anxiety, depression and relationship distress. Symptoms like these indicate inner conflict and present an opportunity to look within and begin the process of inner healing for lasting real change.
