Personal Statement

My name is Dr. Elissa Hurand. I love what I do and believe you will feel this through my heart-centered listening and deep knowledge. As a master’s and doctorate-level clinician, I have been practicing in the field of psychology since 2010, with a background in teaching yoga and mindfulness. My approach to therapy is depth-informed, recognizing what often causes distress and pain in our lives is our false self—the self that emerged long ago to ensure our early relationships with primary caregivers remained intact while the real self went underground. Later in life, this causes dissatisfaction, maladaptive relational patterns, addiction, and detachment from our true self. In our work together, the focus will be to undo the loneliness you may feel and become reacquainted with your real self. I look forward to meeting you.
